Junior Kindergarten
Our Junior Kindergarten Program is a school readiness program designed to meet the needs of students during the year before kindergarten. Junior Kindergarten is taught using inquiry-based teaching methods to prepare children for future success in school. Our Junior Kindergarten students arrive on the threshold of kindergarten fully prepared for their school career.
Communication and Connectedness
The Junior Kindergarten year is a significant milestone in your child's learning journey as they prepare for the big step of kindergarten. Keeping connected with strong parent-teacher partnerships during this critical time will ensure you and your child feel confident and ready for the future. Real-time updates on our family communication app keep you connected to your child's day, even when you're away.
Facilitated Learning
Teachers introduce subject matter-specific content in literacy, math, science, and social studies during small group instruction. During facilitated learning centers, teachers guide children using inquiry-based learning techniques to understand the questions and how they can find the answers.
Expanded Learning Concepts
Using technology as a resource tool, students participate in problem-solving activities reinforcing their understanding of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Spanish is incorporated throughout the day in songs and games to train the ear and the brain for additional language development.
Service, Social, and Emotional Learning
Service-learning and social studies projects provide students with an understanding of their community and their own role in the world around them, discovering how they can truly make a difference. Children need healthy bodies and minds, so we incorporate gardening, food preparation, and healthy eating & exercise choices into learning activities. Our social and emotional learning prepares children to negotiate larger group sizes, follow routines, and practice the social skills they will need to thrive throughout their education.
