I am Lisa June Darnell, and I would like to introduce myself as your Director. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Maine at Farmington, and I have 30 years of experience in the education field. My background includes roles such as a Child & Youth Services Training Specialist with the U.S. Army, a Professional Development Specialist for the Council for Professional Recognition, a Behavior Support Clinician, and a Quality First Coach. Additionally, I served as a Project Trainer for Virginia’s Early Care and Education Learning Collaborative, and I am also a Birth Doula.
Originally from New England (Massachusetts and Maine), I enjoy hiking, skating, and yard workâessentially anything outdoors. I live in Fredericksburg with my husband, a 21-year veteran of the Air Force, and our Boston Terrier, Riot. We have five adult children and two grandchildren.
I have had a passion for working with children for as long as I can remember, and I find it to be incredibly fulfilling. My favorite part of the day is stepping into a classroom and engaging with the children in whatever activity they are involved in. Their success and happiness are my greatest motivators.
